ALMARE is a project which is dedicated to contemporary languages that use sound as an expressive medium – it brings you inside artists/musicians’ specific interventions based upon the connection with surrounding environment.

In this second date Adam Asnan and Luca Garino present “Performing for another’s preparation to perform, and vice versa”. These two musicians are coupled during the preparation of their own set to bring to light temporal boundaries that establish concert’s enjoyment. Ritual staging and sound check become part of the performance finalizing in an event that embed sound check, dj set, performance and post concert.

ADAM ASNAN
Adam Asnan (1983, United Kingdom) is a electro-acoustic musician and sound recorder. He lives in between London and Berlin. His work aims to promote the resumption of sound’s aesthetic potential, the amplification, the sonic image and virtues of synthetic and acoustic spatiality. Recently he dealt with “phonogene” (as a parallel concept to photogene) in sound recording and in several works that use reverberation as an instrument. His compositions, live performance and collective projects has been presented all over Europe. On the assets side he has a large number of published recordings in any format.

LUCA GARINO
Luca Garino is a Turin-based artist and composer active since 1996 in electronic music, actual music, computer music, sonic landscapes and ethnomusicology researches. He started by himself and has improved his research at LaSDIM (Laboratorio Sperimentazione Didattica Informatica Musicale). In a couple of years he collaborates in “Holidays Records” – for which he looks after a sonic poetry series (Arrigo Lora-Totino, Ghérasim Luca, …) and other long-time publications linked to the art world – including artist Henning Christiansen, etc.
